SUBJECT: SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING
APPARATUS (S.C.B.A.)
I would like the City Council's approval to order 12 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
(S.C.B.A.).

The Fire Department membership had three different manufacturers of S. C.B.A. here for
review and demonstrations. Members of the Fire Department then voted on which
S.C.B.A. they would recommend to purchase (they were not told the costs of the units).
Fire Department members preferred the Scott 2.2 Breathing Apparatus. Scott S.C.B.A.
was the lowest price of the 3 different brands.
Attached is the quote from Clarey's Safety Co. This is a budgeted expense in 1994 for 12
S.C.B.A. units and another 12 units in 1995.

about the Scott line of Quality Breathing Apparatus. Below,
please find our quotation to your Fire Department for the
Scott 2.2 Air Paks we have been talking about.

style with Lightweight cylinder less case. Your
price per pak will be $ 1550.00 dollars each.
(12) Twelve Scott model # 804102-01 Air Pak, 2.2
style Lightweight spare cylinders only. Your
price per cylinder will be $ 385.00 dollars each.
( 9) Nine Scott model # 2A air paks complete with air
cylinder Trade-In units. We will credit you in the
amount of $ 150.00 per pak as trade value.
