COMMERCE BUILDING PLANS
AT UPA DRIVE ON HIGHWAY 10
OVERVIEW

The Chamber of Commerce has met with City staff twice over the past few
months to discuss their interest in establishing their office at the corner of
Highway 10 and UPA Drive (former Creamery site). The site is presently
vacant however, the Chamber is planning on moving in a residential home
(currently used by Dennis Chuba) for their office space and also serve as a
center for community information.
Furthermore, its envisioned landscaping and parking lot improvements
would be made to the site which would also enhance the entrance to the
downtown area. These parking lot improvements may be coordinated with
the Minnesota Department of Transportation as part of establishing an
official park and ride facility.
Some of the issues still being discussed before finalizing the Chamber's plans
include the following:
. Terms of a lease agreement between the City and the Chamber for use of
City property.
. Coordination of parking improvements with Minnesota Department of
Transportation's Park and Ride Facility.
. City accepting the building from Dennis Chuba as a donation and then
transferring to the Chambel
. Cooperative maintenance agreement for snow removal and yard
maintenance.

Representatives from the Chamber will be in attendance at Monday night's
meeting to make a brief presentation and answer any questions the Council
may have.
