SUBJECT: CONSIDER CITY INITIATED
RE-ZONING OF CUSTOM MOTORS
Custom Motors has had a long standing history in the community. Over the
years, the City has dealt with issues relating to Custom Motors and most
recently authorized an environmental review of the site by the City's
environmental consultant John Lichter. This environmental review would be
paid by the City. Another issue which has been discussed in the past is the
possible rezoning of the Custom Motors property.

At this point, staff is requesting the City Council initiate the rezoning of
Custom Motors to be in compliance with the comprehensive land use plan
designation of MR (Medium Density Residential). The specific rezoning
request would be to change Custom Motors' zoning from its present
designation of II (Light Industrial) to RIb (Single Family Residential) to
comply with the comprehensive land use plan and also be consistent with
those adjacent properties lying north of Highway 10.
If the City Council initiates this rezoning request, a public hearing by the
Planning Commission would be held on March 22, 1994, and the rezoning
would then be brought forward to the City Council on April 18, 1994.
