SR 03-21-1994 r(1 ---'\) ( )j !11l **CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 8.8.** MEMORANDUM TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: SANDRA THACKERAY, CITY CLERK DATE: MARCH 15, 1994 SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF BRIDGE 86515 MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT INTRODUCTION Since the construction of bridge #86515, the city has entered into a maintenance agreement with Wright County for the maintenance of the bridge. e The maintenance agreement is for a two-year period and will run from January 1, 1994 to December 31, 1995. The attached agreement lists the responsibilities of the City and the County in detail. Phil Hals, Street Superintendent, has reviewed the agreement and indicated his approval. Box 490 . 13065 Orono Parkway · Elk River, MN 55330 · (612) 441-7420 · Fax: (612) 441-7425 e RESOLUTION 94- A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 1994-1955 ~NTENANCEAGREEMENT FOR BRIDGE #86515 BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Elk River, that the maintenance agreement for Bridge #86515, between the City of Elk River and Wright county for 1994-1995, which is hereto attached and made part of this resolution, is hereby approved. Thackeray, City Clerk e MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT (1994-1995) THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into by and between the City of Elk River hereinafter referred to as the "City" and the County of Wright hereinafter referred to as the "County". _ WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of all parties that the duties and responsibilities of both the City and _the County as to maintenance on Bridge #86515 and its approaches should be clearly defined. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED with regard to said structure maintenance: MAINTENANCE CITY RESPONSIBLE FOR: (1) Maintenance of street lights; (2) Removal of snow from sidewalk; (3) Maintenance of slopeslberms and roadway on north approach (includes: turf maintenance, bituminous maintenance, drainage and riprap maintenance); (4) Periodic sweeping to remove sand and debris and removing sand/dirt from expansion joints; (5) Removal of markings/spray paint etc. from visible surfaces of bridge structure. COUNTY RESPONSIBLE FOR: (1) Snow and ice control from bridge and approaches; (2) Signing for bridge and approaches; (3) Maintenance of slopes/berms and roadway on south approach (includes: turf maintenance, bituminous maintenance, drainage and riprap maintenance); (4) Centerline and edge pavement marking (includes stop bar). The agreement between the City and County shall be for a two year period and run from January I, 1994 to .r.ecember 31, 1995. All maintenance responsibilities will be deemed "offsetting" therefore no payments will be required ..,r the individual maintenance work which conforms to the areas stated herein and performed under authorization of either the City or County. In the event that the structure needs major maintenance/rehabilitation an agreement detailing the work and shared costs must be approved and accepted by the City and County.
