Introduction
Cllapter 62, Section 1 of dle Elk Ri~ler City Code addresses dle deferral of special assessments.
Citizens may defer special assessments if tlley are 65 years of age or older or retired by virtue of
perlnanent and total disability.
Discussion
1. In order to be eligible for the deferral, the applicant must meet tile 11ousellold income levels as
establislled by resolution annually by tlle City Council.

tlle income le'lels are tlle same as tllose used for dle State of Ivlinnesota's Energy....Assistance

WHEREAS, Section 62-1, Deferral of Special.L~ssessments, of the Code of Ordinances for
the City of Elk Ri\Ter, l\1innesota, states dlat the Council sllall annually
appro've, by resolution, a maximum household income le'vel in order to
qualify far deferral; and,
