Introduction
As part of Ri\rers Edge ha'ling a do\vnto\vn block party on Saturday August 26, 2006, Fred :tvlcCoy of
J:vIcCoy's Pub has requested a temporary on-sale liquor premises extension.
Discussion
Per State Statue 340A.404, subd. 4(b):
(b) The governing body of a municipality may authorize a
holder of a retail on-sale intoxicating liquor license issued by
the municipality to dispense intoxicating liquor off premises at
a community festival held within the municipality. The
authorization shall specify the area in which the intoxicating
liquor must be dispensed and consumed, and shall not be issued
unless the licensee demonstrates that it has liability insurance
as prescribed by section 340A.409 to cover the event.
Staff reconunends that tile dispensing and consumption of alcollol for tlus e'vent be in dle fenced
boundary,vitll adequate police security. Liquor liability insurance is to be extended to co\rer dlis outside
area. Council also may \visll to discuss tlle 110urs tllat the alcollo1 may be dispensed and consumed in the
outside area.

upon receipt of application fee, liquor liability insurance extended to this outside area with the City named
