Introduction
In March 2006 a 2005 GMC one ton dump truck caught fire and was totaled. The Fire was related to a
faulty power steering hose that was recalled by General Motors.
Discussion
After a lengthy process, the city has received a settlement from General Motors. Staff is requesting
authorization to replace the 2005 one-ton dump truck with a 2007 one-ton dump truck purchased under
the State of Minnesota contract.
Financial Impact
The city received a settlement of$31,997 The Purchase price of a comparably equipped 2007 GMC on
the state contract is $31,943.
