SUBJECT: Consider request to American Legion
for donation of flags for Lion's Park
INTRODUCTION:
The American Legion has donated five flags to the City. These flags were
used for the Memorial Day celebration at Lion's Park.

BACKGROUND:
The flags are being donated to the City from charitable gambling (pull-tab)
proceeds. In order for this to be a legal expenditure of charitable gambling,
the request must come from the City of Elk River in the form of a motion
from the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Council request the American Legion to donate
the following flags to the City for use in Lion's Park:
1 (6xl0) Minnesota flag $145.38
2 (6xl0) American flags $144.00
1 (4x6) MIA/POW flag $ 33.23
1 (8xI2) American flag $170.00
