DATE: JUNE 21, 1994 SUBJECT:MAINTENANCEAGREEMENT~TH WRIGHT COUNTY Each year since 1986, the city has entered into a maintenance agreement with Wright County for the bridge over the Mississippi River on County Road 42/Parrish Avenue. This maintenance work has been routinely done with other street projects and causes no work overload for our department. We have maintained an excellent working relationship with Wright County and I recommend that the City Council approve the attached maintenance agreement. e e P.O. Please return both copies of the executed agreement. After approval by the County Board, one of the copies will be returned to you for your files. Fingalson County Highway Engineer Enclosure: (2) Maintenance Agreement (1994-1995) js e Equal Opportunity I Affirmative Action Employer RESOLUTION 94 - A RESOLUTION RENEWING THE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR THE WRIGHT/SHERBURNE BRIDGE 86515 MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT (1994-1995) . THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into by and between the City of Elk River he "City" and the County of Wright hereinafter referred to as the "County". hereinafter referred to as WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of all parties that the duties and responsibilities of both the City and the County as to maintenance on Bridge #86515 and its approaches should be clearly defined. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED with regard to said structure maintenance: MAINTENANCE CITY RESPONSIBLE FOR: (1) Maintenance of street lights; (2) Removal of snow from sidewalk; (3) Maintenance of slopeslberms and roadway on north approach (includes: turf maintenance, bituminous maintenance, drainage and riprap maintenance); (4) Periodic sweeping to remove sand and debris and removing sand/dirt from expansion joints; (5) Removal of markings/spray paint etc. from visible surfaces of bridge structure. C-oUNTY RESPONSIBLE FOR: (1) Snow and ice control from bridge and approaches; (2) Signing for bridge and approaches; (3) Maintenance of slopes/berms and roadway on south approach (includes: turf maintenance, bituminous maintenance, drainage and riprap maintenance); (4) Centerline and edge pavement marking (includes stop bar). The agreement between the City and County shall be for a two year period and run from January I, 1994 to December 31, 1995. All maintenance responsibilities will be deemed "offsetting" therefore no payments will be required for the individual maintenance work which conforms to the areas stated herein and performed under authorization of either the City or County. - In the event that the structure needs major maintenance/rehabilitation an agreement detailing the w~rk and shared .sts must be approved and accepted by the City and County.
