**CONSENT ITEM 5.4.**
MEMORANDUM
TO: PAT KLAERS, CITY ADMINISTRATOR
FROM: PHIL HALS, STREET/PARK SUPO~
DATE:
JUNE 24, 1994
SUBJECT: WAGES: CHRIS LEESEBURG/DAVE
RANSTROM
It has come to my attention that School District 728 pays post secondary part
time workers $6.00 per hour for first year employees and $7.25 per hour for
employees with two or more years.
I would suggest that the City Council increase Chris Leeseburg's wage from
$6.23 to $7.25 per hour for the following reasons:
1.
His job is comparable to the School District's part time employees plus
he is now in his third year with us. He is also supervising the high
school summer youth workers.
e
2. Chris has cross trained enough to operate mowers, the skid loader, one
ton dump trucks, and the welders.
3. Chris has an excellent work history and IS a very energetic,
enthusiastic, and dedicated employee.
I would also suggest a wage increase for David Ranstrom from $5.00 per hour
to $6.00 per hour for the following reasons:
1. His job is comparable to the School District's part time employees and
he has worked summers here for six years.
2. Dave's level of responsibility has increase to operating the 12 foot wide
turf mower 20 hours per week.
3. Dave is a reliable, conscientious, and dedicated worker.
Since I require a greater level of performance from my employees, I think
e that it is only fair that we pay at least comparable wages.
