SUBJECT: ROTARY CLUB SPONSORED CIRCUS
A representative of the Rotary Club has requested permission to sponsor a
circus in Lion's Park on July 25 and 26. The Park and Recreation
Commission heard this request on June 27 and voted 6-0 to allow this use in
the Lion's Park.
The same circus company held performances in Lion's Park in 1992 with no
ill effects for the park. The only issue that I am unclear of at this point is
liability insurance that would protect the City from unsafe situations that
the circus company might cause. Other than that issue, I fully support the
Rotary Club's venture.

Dear Phil:
This letter is to formally request the use of Lions Park for the
Rotary Circus. The need for the park will be similar to 2 years
ago when we did this. We will need the area around the warming
house the night of the 25th of July and all day on the 26th. The
Circus pulls out late in the evening on the 26th. We have no need
for sight preparation or clean up, as the Circus and Rotary will
take care of this. The Circus will be the same one as 2 years ago.
I think they did a good job then, we had no problems with them or
the park.
If we need to make an appearance at a council meeting please let me
know. If you have any questions concerning our use of the park or
the event please call me at 441-2200.
