Introduction
Minnesota Election Law, 205.185, Subdivision 3, requires, "Within seven days after an election, the
governing body of a city conducting any election including a special municipal election, or the governing
body of a town conducting the general election in ~ovember shall act as the canvassing board, canvass
the returns, and declare the results of the election."
Discussion
The effect of this action will be to canvass the election results.

A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE NOVEMBER 7,2006,
MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS
WHEREAS, the city of Elk River conducted a municipal general election on November
7,2006; and
WHEREAS, the following municipal offices were on the municipal general election
ballot:
. Ward I Council Member
. Ward 4 Council Member
. Mayor
and;
WHEREAS, listed below are voting statistics from Election Day, November 7,2006,
including the number of voters voting on Election Day.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River, Minnesota, that the Municipal Canvassing Board has examined the Municipal
General Election results and concurs with the results as presented.
