Position Summary
The Recreation Assistant performs a '~.rariety of duties including, but not limited to, ans\vering
phones and \velcoming 'visitors to the facility. Also performs casll receipts acti:vlties and clerical
duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
1. Performs receptionist duties.
1-\. Receives incoming calls to Parks and Recreation Department.
B. Ans\vers routine questions.
C. Greets the public.
D. Explains departmental services, programs and procedures.
2. Performs clerical support duties.
A. Sorts and/or delivers mail.
B. Accepts program registrations and facility use applications.
C. Orders, inventories, and maintains program and office supplies.
D. Performs general filing.
E. Types memos using \vord processing soft\vare.
F. Proofreads and types marketing materials.
G. Submits marketing materials to ne"\vspapers.
3. Performs registration duties.
A. Processes class and facility registration.
B. Processes cash and check deposits, credit card transactions, and refunds.
c. Assigns account codes to lllvoices.
D. Maintains petty cash.
E. Runs registration deposit reports as needed.
4. Performs other essential job duties.
A. Regular and timely "\vork attendance.
B. Follo\vs all safety procedures.
C. Participates in safety training.

Minimum Qualifications
D Higll school diploma or equi\Talent.
o One year experience \vith lVlicrasaft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, Ward, and
Publisher.
o Valid driver>s license.
Preferred Qualifications
o Receptionist experience.
D General accounting experience or education.
o Recreational experience or education.
