Introduction
The 2007 Wastewater Treatment budget contains funding for a full-time laborer position.
Discussion
Due to increased workload, I am requesting Council authorization to fill the laborer position at the
wastewater treatment plant. The Street and Building Maintenance Departments recendy advertised for
two laborer positions and received a large number of applications. Due to the volume of applications that
were received for the Street and Building Maintenance laborer positions, I would like Council
authorization to screen the same group of applications to fill the wastewater laborer position. If an
appropriate candidate is not found in this pool of applications, we would then advertise to fill this
position.
Financial Impact
Funding for this position is included in the 2007 budget.
