Introduction
Staff has developed a plan to renovate the existing Elk River library into an updated multi-functional
senior facility. This facility will provide expanded programming and partnerships with multiple agencies
in the area, helping persons age 65 and older to stay in their own homes and communities longer. Staff
would like to apply for a MN Department of Human Services Aging and Adult Services Capital and
Renovation Grant to obtain funds for renovations.
Discussion
The Capital and Renovation Request is for $250,000 and requires a minimum of 50% dollar for dollar
match. The existing library appraised at $1.1 million would serve as the dollar match. Deadline for
submitting proposal is March 9, 2007
