Introduction
In January, staff received authorization to advertise for the part-time Recreation Assistant.
Discussion
Staff advertised the Recreation Assistant position and numerous applications were received. After
interviewing the top 6 candidates, staff is recommending that James Beckius be hired for the Recreation
Assistant position. Mr. Beckius has a degree in Recreation, is a member of Minnesota Parks and
Recreation} and has seven years experience in recreation.
Financial Impact
Mr. Beckius would start at pay grade 3, step A ($14.39). He would receive a cost of living increase on
January 1, 2008 and then receive his fIrst step increase in July 2008.
