Introduction
I have received a resignation from our newly hired Engineering Tech I, Chris Rice. He has opted
to take a comparable job much closer to his home, which is in southeast Minneapolis.
Discussion
Along with accepting Chris' resignation, I would request Council authorization to immediatdy
begin a search to replace the Engineering Tech I position.

Terry, this note is to confirm in writing that I wish to resign my position of Engineering
Technician with the city.
It is with regret that I do so as I feel that the opportunity to work for the city would have
provided me with a challenging and stimulating environment in which to work. I thank
you for the opportunity afforded me; I am extremely grateful and if circumstances were
otherwise would be extremely happy to stay on in the position.
I would like the notice period required of the city to commence tomorrow, and will work
for as long or as short as you wish within that period.
