SUBJECT: Downtown Task Force - Parks & Recreation Commission
Representation
On April 2, 2007 the City Council elected not to reappoint Mike Niziolek to the Parks and
Recreation Commission. Based on this, the question remains open regarding his
representation on the Downtown Redevelopment Task Force. Staff is recommending the
following:
1. Mr. Niziolek remain as a representative of the Commission, since he has invested
over five months of time and the group is now in the critical visualization process.
2. Mr. Niziolek would continue to present back to the Parks and Recreation
Commission Task Force progress. Staff is assuming that the Task Force draft will be
prepared in the next three or four months, with a fmal conclusion in early fall, after
extensive review by the public.
3. If staff does not hear back from the City Council on this, we will assume that we will
continue with Mr. Niziolek as representative.
