SUBJECT: FIRE CHIEF APPLICATIONS

The Fire Chief Selection Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, July 21, 1994, at
7:00 p.m. in order to review all of the applications that have been received. It is
anticipated that this four-member committee will narrow the field of applicants down to a
reasonable number of candidates so that interviews can be scheduled and held in the next
few weeks. The work of the committee on July 21 will be very difficult, as there are some
excellent applicants for this position. At this time (Wednesday 7/20/94) limited
information is available, but a verbal update to the Council is expected at the meeting from
the two Council representatives, Mayor Duitsman and Councilmember Farber.
It should be noted that the names of all the applicants are confidential at this time and only
the names of the applicants being interviewed can or will be released to the public or the
entire City Council.
