SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR THE CITY COUNCIL TO
AUTHORIZE THE ADVERTISEMENT
OF BID FOR STREET LIGHT
IMPROVEMENTS AT ELK PARK
CENTER

Kraus-Anderson has asked staff if the street lights installed along Freeport
Avenue could be assessed along with the other public improvements being
done to serve Elk Park Center. Lori Johnson indicated that funds are
available from the bond proceeds to finance these improvements and allow
them to be assessed as public improvements.
Authorizing the advertisement of bids would allow the plans and
specifications to be prepared and a bid awarded towards the later part of
September. This schedule would still allow these street lights and
improvements to be installed this fall, in time for the opening of Freeport
Avenue.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the City Council authorize the advertisement for bid for
street light improvements along Freeport Avenue.
