SUBJECT: JOINT UTILITIES COMMISSION AND
CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The City Council would like to have a joint meeting with the Elk River
Utilities Commission. The two choices that are available at this time are at
6:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 1994, or at about 8:00 p.m., Monday, October
31, 1994 (Halloween). As the City Council will be conducting other City
business on both of these evenings, it is suggested that we meet in the Elk
River City Hall Training Room. If neither of these dates work out for the
Utilities Commission, please offer some other dates for the City Council to
consider.
A tentative list of topics to review include:
. East Highway 10 trunk sewer and water feasibility study
. Current and pending water improvement projects
· Discuss a possible City ordinance that requires water hook ups
· Annual contribution to the City General Fund budget
· Status of the General Manager's employment contract
· 1995 Commission appointment
· An update on the Utilities participation in the Business Park project
· Street lighting options for commercial and residential developments
· An update on the Surface Water Management utility billing proposal
Most of the above topics are familiar to both the Utilities Commission and
City Council. We need to continue to meet on a frequent basis to keep
advised of the current status of activities and to finalize some decisions on
topics that have been discussed at previous meetings.
Please let me know about a preferred meeting date. Additionally, let me
know if there are topics that need to be included in the agenda.
