PRO CLAMATIO N
Recognizing October 19, 1994, as Elk River All Star City Day
WHEREAS, the Star City Program was established in 1981 by the State of
Minnesota as a way to promote economic development efforts
at the local level; and,
WHEREAS, many business owners and residents volunteered their time on
the Elk River Economic Development Commission in order for
Elk River to achieve the Star City designation; and,
WHEREAS, Elk River was certified as Minnesota's 27th Star City in May,
1985; and,
WHEREAS, currently over 130 Minnesota communities achieved the Star
City designation; and,
.
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River was recently recognized with certificates
of excellence for its marketing materials and promotional video
at the Annual Star City Conference; and,
WHEREAS, because of its commitment to economic development, Elk River
was also recognized as an All Star City for the year 1994; and,
WHEREAS, Honorable Governor Arne H. Carlson has proclaimed October
19, 1994, as Elk River All Star City Day.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Henry A. Duitsman, Mayor of the City of Elk River,
do hereby recognize the achievements of our City's economic development
efforts, and call upon the residents and businesses to remember October 19,
1994, as Elk River All Star City Day.
