SUBJECT: Board of Canvass meeting for General Election
On November 8, there will be a municipal election for the seats of Mayor, Council
member Ward 1, and Council member Ward 4. According to state law, the governing
body shall canvass the returns and declare the results of the election within two days after
the election.
Staff is requesting the City Council to call a special meeting of the Board of Canvass for
the pUIpose of canvassing the results of the general election for the positions of Mayor,
Council Member Ward 1, and Council Member Ward 4. Staff is recommending that the
Board of Canvass meeting be held on Thursday November 10, at 5:30 p.ll The board of
Canvass meeting should last no more than 10 minutes.
Action Reauested: Motion to call Board of Canvas meeting on November 10, 1994, at
5:30 p.ll
