Item Description
Request by Lisa Proechel of Pyro Tech for Fireworks Sales from
Tent in MP Convenience Parking Lot
Action Requested
Council motion approving a temporary sales/storage of fireworks license to Lisa Proechel, PyroTech, to
allow the sale of fireworks from June 27, 2007 through July 7, 2007 from a tent in the MP Convenience
parking lot, 13374 Highway 10 contingent upon receipt of the following:

Receipt of a copy of certificate of insurance coverage as per Elk River City Ordinance
Chapter 22, Section 22-253:
o General Liability, bodily injury, and property damage in the minimum amount of $1
million single limit.
o The City of Elk River shall be named as an additional insured on the policy.
Background/Discussion
Ms. Proechel has submitted all the necessary application materials required for this license except for a
certificate of insurance coverage as required. Ms. Proechel indicated to staff that she would provide the
certificate of insurance coverage upon Council approval of the license and CUP. A background check was
completed by the Police Department and the Fire Chief has reviewed the site plan.
The applicant also needs a general planning permit from the Planning Department in order to conduct
her sales from a tent in the MP Convenience parking lot.
