SUBJECT: Ice Arena Soil Borings
The Ice Arena Task Force has been reviewing building concepts and sketches
for the proposed new arena at their last two meetings. At the most recent Ice
Arena Task Force meeting on 12/13/94, it was noted that soil borings or tests
need to be completed in the near future. These borings are necessary in order
to more clearly understand the building and financial issues with
construction at this location.

Chairperson Jeff Gongoll is taking the lead in obtaining quotes for the seven
soil borings that are needed. At least two quotes will be received. Staff
would like to obtain Council approval to authorize soil borings to the firm
submitting the low quote and have this work completed in the next few
weeks. It is understood that the entire cost of the soil borings will be under
$4,000 and will be financed as part of the ice arena project.
