SUBJECT: ADDITION OF TWO NEW P AID-ON-
CALL FIREFIGHTERS
I will be starting the process for the hiring of two additional paid-on-call
firefighters. We will be placing an ad in the Elk River Star News in reference
to accepting applications for the position of volunteer firefighter. Our roster
of firefighters is currently at 33 members. The by-laws allow our
organization to have up to 35 members. The process of hiring new
firefighters and placing them on a one year probation should take until
approximately February 1, 1995.

Volunteer Firefighters
The Elk River Fire Department'i
and Ambulance' Service
Is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters.
Responsibilities include: respond to all alarms and
emergency calls, extinguish and prevent fires, effect
rescues and render first aid, be willing to accept
orders from. superior officers. Qualified applicants
will have a valid Minnesota Driver's Ucense, live
within the Elk River Fire Service Area, pass a thor-
ough firefighter's physical exam, and if not self-
employed, have your employer's written permission
to attend emergency calls during regular. working
hours.
Applications are.. available at Elk River City Hall,
13065 Orono Parkway' and the Elk River Fire
Station, 415 Jackson. Ave. Applications close
November 30,. 1994.
