SUBJECT: SALK JUNIOR HIGH STUDENT
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
The Mainstream section of the Elk River Star News featured a story about
local ninth graders doing community service projects. The City's project was
wrapping about 150 park and boulevard trees. From my viewpoint, the
project was very positive for the students, the City, and the trees. This was
due in no small way to the efforts of Salk teachers Mark Huss and Marilyn
Olson.

I am forwarding a thank you note to these teachers and students on behalf of
the City and I wanted to be sure that the City Council was aware of the very
successful project.
