Resolution Acknowledging Public Safety Contributions from the
Eddy Foundation
Action Requested
Council adoption of the attached resolution acknowledging the monetary contributions from the Eddy
Foundation pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 465.03.
Background/Discussion
Robert Eddy, Eddy Foundation, was present at the June 18,2007, City Council meeting and presented
the Police Department and the Fire Department each with a $2,000 donation.
Financial Impact
The Police Department received $2,000 that will be used for the purchase of extras for the mobile
computers to help them operate more effectively and for a tactical backpack and special operations
breacher for active shooter response calls.
The Fire Department also received $2,000 that will be used to purchase a Fire Pup mascot costume that
will be used for fire prevention and for events such as National Night Out.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all C1V1C groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Police Department received a $2,000 donation from the
Eddy Foundation with the intent it be used to purchase equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Fire Department received a $2,000 donation from the
Eddy Foundation with the intent it be used to purchase fire prevention and training items;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River
to acknowledge the support and commend the Eddy Foundation for their contribution.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 2nd day of July. 2007.
