1994 RIP RAP IMPROVEMENTS
Dear Mr. Klaers:
Bids were received and opened at 9:00 a.m. on November 9, 1994, for the above-
referenced project. A total of five bids were received. Following is a list of the
contractors and their bids.

Veit and Company, Inc. completed the last City rip rap project, constructed in 1991, and
is experienced in this type of work. They were very cooperative to work with and met all
specifications of the project.
The grant received from the Sherburne County Soil and Water Conservation District and
matching City funds provided $40,000.00 for the project. Discussions with Mr. Don
Rachael ofVeit and Company, Inc. indicate their willingness to add rip rap to the project
to fully utilize the $40,000.00 funds available for the project.
We recommend award of the 1994 Rip Rap Improvements Project at your November 21,
1994, City Council meeting to Veit and Company, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder.
Work would occur this winter following execution of the Contract Documents. Please
contact me if you have any questions.
