SUBJECT: Appointment of Assistant City Weed
Inspector
INTRODUCTION
According to State Statute, the Mayor shall act as the local weed inspector for
the City. Statute also provides for the appointment of an assistant weed
inspector to act on behalf of the Mayor. The assistant weed inspector has the
power, authority, and responsibility of the City Mayor in the capacity of weed
inspector.
. As part of the annual business meeting, the Council is requested to appoint
an Assistant Weed Inspector. Phil Hals has been appointed to this position in
the past and has indicated he would be willing to assume this position again
in 1995.
ACTION REQUESTED
Appointment of Phil Hals as Assistant Weed Inspector for the City of Elk
River for 1995.
