Council motion approving the use of City Hall for the School District Special Election with the condition
that the district will reimburse the city for reasonable use fees.
Background/Discussion
The Elk River School District has requested use of City Hall for a special election. The tentative date of
the election is Tuesday, November 6, 2007. The district will need to reimburse the city for reasonable fees
for use of the facilities and things such as having a building maintenance staff person to open, close, and
act as security for the site during the hours when city offices are closed.
The district has also requested use of city election equipment and staff time for the election. We are in the
process of working out an agreement with the district and this will come before the Council on August 6,
2007. If the Council has any issues with implementing this type of agreement with the district, please let
staff know.
