Staff is requesting the Council approve the Resolution accepting donations as outlined on Appendix A
which were made to the City of Elk River for the Archeological Dig.
Background/Discussion
The City of Elk River, on behalf of the Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC), has continued working
with St. Cloud State University (SCSU) doing archaeological work at the Hoebelheinrich property off
Twin Lake.
As you may recall, the City and SCSU each budgeted $10,000 for this year's dig. This amount only covers
the archaeologist's time, any licensing, and paperwork necessary to conduct the excavation and to report
the results thereof. Because of this, the City has requested donations from area business. I have
attached a resolution stating the amount and type of donation we have received from these businesses.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER FOR THE ARCHEOLOGICAL DIG
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received donations in the year 2007 from various
individuals and organizations as itemized on Exhibit A, attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River
that the donations on the attached Exhibit A are accepted in accordance with the terms
prescribed by the donors.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 6th day of August,
2007.
