A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
AS A TEST CITY FOR MOTION-ACTIVATED CAMERAS
WHEREAS,
the Elk River Police Chief and City Council is requesting that the City
of Elk River be identified as a test city for motion-activated cameras,
more commonly known as "photo cops"; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River would be a good candidate as a test city for the
motion activated cameras for the following reasons:
Elk River is an outer ring suburb of the NW metro area
Elk River is one of the fastest growing cities in the state of
Minnesota
There are numerous gravel mining operations along Highway 169
which create a significant amount of semi-truck traffic running
through numerous semaphores causing danger to pedestrians and
motorists
· Numerous school buses cross Highway 169 daffy
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River, Minnesota, that the City of Elk River become a test city for
motion-activated cameras
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 5th day of
April, 1999.
