A) Approval of downtown street closure for a street dance listed on attached map as Alternate 1
with the following conditions:

The Street Department will rent and set up street signs, provide portable sanitation satellites,
and street closure setup and removal.
Rivers Edge shall provide adequate garbage containers to handle waste for the event. The
Street Department will provide final clean-up.
Police Department will provide security with officers and reserves.

B) Approval of a Temporary On-sale Liquor Premises Extension to McCoys Restaurant, Inc., with the
following conditions:

Event must be held in an area that is fenced in with secured and controlled access and be
compact and contiguous to the licensed establishment.
Liquor and public liability insurance with the city named as an additional insured.
Liquor License fees: $100.

Background/Discussion
Rivers Edge is requesting approval for a downtown street dance on Saturday, August 18, 2007, from
5:00 p.m. to midnight. A similar event was held last year with approximately 300 in attendance. In June
the HRA authorized $2,000 to be used for this event.
Jackson Street will remain open for right turn traffic onto Main Street heading west. Main Street will be
closed at Main and Jackson. Signs will be erected at Lowell Street letting traffic know the road is closed.
Lowell Street will be the detour route. Northbound traffic on Parrish Avenue will not be able to make a
left turn and traffic heading west on Main Street from TH 10 will have to make a left to the Parrish
Avenue bridge.
Financial Impact
· Up to $2,000 contribution from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
