Background/Discussion
Bid package 01 included precast wall panels, precast plank and structural steel.
. Five bids were received for structural steel. The low bid was Camelot Steel with a base bid of
$298,000.
. Two Bids were received for precast plank. The low bid was Hanson Structural Precast with a base
bid of $172,765.
. Two bids were received for precast wall panels. The low bid, Wells Concrete Products, was
unable to meet the delivery schedule; therefore, dleir bid was deemed non-responsive and invalid.
The other bidder, Hanson Structural Precast, ha~ indicated that they can deliver the product
within the schedule parameters. The base bid fnpm Hanson Structural Precast was $645,937.
Financial Impact
Structural Steel $298,000
Precast Plank $172,765
Precast Wall Panels $645,937
As per the terms of the Contract Documents, the awarq of these contracts at this time only allows the
contractors to proceed with the shop drawings. The fiscal exposure to the City of Elk River by awarding
these contracts at this time is $83,708.
