Action Requested
Approve hiring of Michael Schipper effective Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at step A of pay grade 2
which is $12.38 per hour. Provided satisfactory performance, Mr. Schipper would be eligible for any cost
of living adjustment approved fox non-union employees on January 1, 2008 and a step increase July 1,
2008.
Background/Discussion
The Community Service Officer I position became available when former CSO, Andrew Zabee, was
hired as a Police Officer. We received nine applications for this position and are recommending the
hiring of Michael Schipper. Mr. Schipper is a firefighter for the City and also worked on last year's
downtown traffic detail.
Financial Impact
As this is a budgeted position, there is no financial impact.
