INFORMATION #2 09-10-2007Library Board Meeting
August 28, 2007
Mick Stoffers, Ann Schroeder, Karen Stelk, John Dietz, Joan Allen from 6RRL and
Nick Zerwas City Council Liaison, were in attendance.
Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm.
A quorum was established.
The agenda, secretary's report and treasurer's report were reviewed, a motion and
second were made to approve all.
No suggestion box.
Old business: There is a new additional expense for the Econar pumps. Nick will
check who will be paying for that.
Librarian's Report: Mick went over the details regarding Open House. It has been
changed back to October 13t" due to the fact author Will Weaver can only make
that date. Invitations will be sent, open house will begin at 9:OOam with the ribbon
cutting and then speakers. The theme is: "There's something for everyone at the
Library."
The last day the library at its current location will be open is 9/22, patrons either
need to suspend holds or have their requests sent to Big Lake, Monticello, etc. A
moving company has been hired, they will pull off material, shrink wrap and
dismantle the shelving. During the next week the new furniture will arrive. First
day of business in its new location will be the day of the Open House, 10/13. Self-
check out will be installed but not ready for Open House, a maintenance agreement
will also be purchased.
The final walk through will be 10/17.
There has been an interest expressed in opening a Coffee Shop.
The community room regulations have been edited and will now go through the
attorney for approval they will then go in front of the City Council.
There will be no meeting in September, Mick will contact us in early October for a
tour of the new facility.
