It is requested that Mayor and Council adopt the attached resolution acknowledging the monetary
contribution from the Gxeatex Minnesota Credit Union pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 465.03.
BackgroundlDiscussion
The Parks and Recreation Department has seen the potential and benefits of the Rivexfront Conceit
Series. With this in mind, the Parks and Recreation Department is moving forward and starting a
Riverfxont Movie Series starting September 22. Because of the expense of renting the movie equipment,
the Parks and Recreation Department has decided to purchase an inflatable movie screen and a projector.
Sponsors were sought and the Gxeatex Minnesota Credit Union was forthcoming with a sponsorship of
$4,000.
Financial Impact
A contribution in the amount of $4000.00 was received to be used towards the purchase of a movie
screen.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals fox their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Ciry of Elk River received a $4,000 donation from The Greater Minnesota
Credit Union with the intent it be used by The Parks and Recxeatlon Department for the
purchase of an inflatable movie screen; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River
to acknowledge the support and commend the Gxeatex Minnesota Credit Union fox their
donation.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 10`h day of September
2007.
