MEMORANDUM
FROM:
Phil Dais, StreetJPark Superintendent
DATE:
January 16, 1995
SUBJECT:
ISTEA Grant
I have completed the grant application for the 1996 to 1998 Federally funded ISTEA
Grant program for Trail System involving the improvements on the Railroad Trail.
e
I request that the City Council pass the enclosed resolution which pledges Financial
support for the proposed trail system grand for 25 percent of the total cost or $69,375.00
which if the grant application is successful could come from park dedication funds. Also
in the resolution is a commitment for $52,000 worth of equipment and labor by the City
StreetlPark Department which is 19% of the total proposal. This work would consist of
clearing and grubbing trees before the trail construction and the restoration and seeding
after the construction.
It is my hope that these additions may make our grant application attractive enough to be
successful.
