INFORMATION #1 01-16-1995 TO: City Council rCI ---'\) ( /I ~Iil MEMORANDUM FROM: Phil Dais, StreetJPark Superintendent DATE: January 16, 1995 SUBJECT: ISTEA Grant I have completed the grant application for the 1996 to 1998 Federally funded ISTEA Grant program for Trail System involving the improvements on the Railroad Trail. e I request that the City Council pass the enclosed resolution which pledges Financial support for the proposed trail system grand for 25 percent of the total cost or $69,375.00 which if the grant application is successful could come from park dedication funds. Also in the resolution is a commitment for $52,000 worth of equipment and labor by the City StreetlPark Department which is 19% of the total proposal. This work would consist of clearing and grubbing trees before the trail construction and the restoration and seeding after the construction. Duitsman, Mayor e RESOLUTION 95- A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF 1995 FEDERAL ISTEA GRANT APPLICATION WHEREAS, the City pledges twenty-five percent (25%) of the proposed ISTEA project; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the project is $277,500; and WHEREAS, the City commits City staff and equipment to this project to do clearing and grubbing operations and restorations and seeding operations entirely, at an estimated value of $52,000; and e WHEREAS, the City commits the City Street and Park Superintendent as project manager. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City pledges a spirit of cooperation and support to the proposed ISTEA Project in the amount of $69,375.00.
