SUBJECT: PAYMENT OF ELK RIVER FIRE
DEPARTMENT RE-ROOF

On December 15, 1994, the completion of all re-roofing for the Elk River Fire
Station was completed by Palmer West Construction, and all inspections
have been completed with Inspec, Inc. and myself. At this time Palmer West
Construction is requesting final payment of the contract. Provided for you is
the application and certificate for this payment. Please note the additional
charges which are $500 for the replacement of insulation, $650 for wall
modification. This part was an add-on that at time of bid drawings, Inspec
and myself did not fee we would have to do, but after tearing off the roof,
Inspec and I did determine that we did need additional flashing to protect the
upper and lower roof. This $650 price as an excellent price for the work done.
The last item is the four hours of snow removal at $140, totaling $1,290.00
change order.
I feel Palmer West construction did an excellent job in the construction of this
new mopped roof system for the fire station and feel that the job they
performed will last for many years to follow.
Recommendation
At this time I am requesting payment of $34707.00 made to Palmer West
Construction for the completion of the partial re-roof at the Elk River Fire
Station.
