SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL
I, Henry Duitsman, Mayor, hereby request a special meeting of the City
Council on Monday, February 13, 1995, at 5:45 p.m., to be held at the Elk
River City Hall - 13065 Orono Parkway.
The purpose of the special meeting is to approve the check register.
In accordance with State Statute, I hereby request the City Clerk to post this
notice. I further request the City Clerk to notify each member of the City
Council of this special meeting, in writing, at least one day before the
meeting.

This is to inform the City Council that Jeff Mordal is now home
from the hospital and doing very well. His brother, Doug, came
home a couple days earlier and is also doing very well.
Jeff indicated to me that his doctor feels Jeff may be able to
come back to work, in a limited capacity, in the next month and a
half or so. I've indicated to Jeff that he should take it easy
and we'll deal with that when the time comes.
If you have any questions about Jeff or anything else you would
like to discuss, give me a call.

Dear Lori:
It was a pleasure having the opportunity to visit with you again regarding the City of Elk
River Assistant Finance Director position. As I indicated to you on Tuesday, January 31,
1995, the Elk River City Council approved a motion which officially offered this position
• to you. Per our discussion on Wednesday, February 1, 1995, I am pleased to hear that
you will accept the Assistant Finance Director position with the City of Elk River.
Briefly, the terms and conditions of employment are as follows:
• Beginning wage of $44,000 per year.
• After successfully completing a six month orientation/probationpeiiod, your
salary will increase to $45,000 per year, and you will be eligible for any
"typical" beginning of the year salary adjustments that all other employees
receive in January, 1996.
• You will receive the standard city employee benefits package for such items
as vacation time, sick time, city insurance coverage and options, etc.
• You will be an exempt employee and, therefore, will not be eligible for
overtime pay. As an exempt employee you will have some flexibility in your
work schedule, work week, and work day, and can use comp time as deemed
..appropriate by your Supervisor, Assistant City Administrator Lori Johnson.
• Your starting date will be Monday, February 27, 1995.
As I understand our conversation on February 1, 1995, these terms and conditions of
employment are acceptable to you. If this is accurate, please acknowledge by signing and
