MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director
DATE: November 13, 2007
SUBJECT: Public Works Department Update
At Tuesday evening's workshop, I will have a PowerPoint presentation to briefly discuss the
various divisions in the Public Works Department. Generally, I will hit on the main mission
of each division and how we spend the bulk of our time. I will also discuss with the City
Council my activities in working with the divisions over the last several weeks since I have
been appointed Public Works Director. I will attempt to answer any questions the Council
may have and will be looking for some concurrence from the Council that I am headed in
the right direction or feedback as to other items the Council would like me to work on.
I will also have a PowerPoint slide to discuss transportation priorities, summarizing the 2008
CIP projects and items on the list for future years. On this item, I hope we can also have
some discussion should there be anything that you would like to see removed from the list
or projects that you would like to see moved onto the list or to a different location in the 5-
year plan.
