4.10 SR 03-20-1995~1 ~ ~Ri FROM: Phil Hals, Street/Park Superintendent DATE: March 20, 1995 SUBJECT: Park Equipment The 1995 budget designated $5,000 for the purchase of a Flail type mower for park application and $2,600 for a rear mounted blade of grading and leveling turf areas and trail edges. I would like to request that the City Council authorize the purchase of a Flail mower with a vacuum attachment from Wahl Enterprises in the amount of $9,580 including tax. This unit can be used as a mower, a leaf vacuum, or a litter vacuum to clean up park areas after such events as the 4th of July or the County Fair. While the cost is more than the budgeted amount, the grand total for the field groomer, line marker, and mower/vacuum as proposed are $501ess than the total budgeted amount. I would also request that the City Council consider allowing the purchase of a rear mounted blade attachment from E-Z Implements of Jordan, Minnesota for $1,806 including tax. Although this item was budgeted, I would prefer to spend the extra money on the mower/vacuum and purchase this unit next year if necessary, or the funds could be drawn from the Park Equipment Reserve for this year's purchase since the primary use will be to grade along the side of walking trails as they are constructed. r~ LJ **ITEM 4.10.** MEMORANDUM V~~ TO: Mayor & City Council 13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
