SUBJECT: Consider Purchase of Used Truck for
Street Department
At the 2/20/95 Council CIP worksession, a motion was approved authorizing
the purchase of a used truck for the Street/Park Department. The truck
authorized was from Wells Ford Mercury, Inc. This bid was slightly higher
than the other bid, but the higher priced truck was justified by the number of
additional features on the vehicle. Unfortunately, the City has been advised
that this truck is no longer available. Accordingly, Street/Park
Superintendent Phil Hals is recommending that the Council authorize the
• purchase of the other used vehicle. The bid for this vehicle. was in the
amount of $32,543, and was from DK Huhn, Inc., out of Darwin, Minnesota
Please see the attached bid results.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Council authorize the purchase of the used truck
from DK Huhn, Inc., in the amount of $32,543.
