SUBJECT: Request for Pull-Tab license
INTRODUCTION
Last week the city received a request by Lake Region Hockey Association
(New Brighton, MN), for a premise permit license to sell pull-tabs at J.
Cousineau's restaurant in the City of Elk River.
Upon receipt of the application, I contacted the planning and building
departments to see if any permits have been pulled for J. Cousineau's
restaurant. As of this date, there has been no site plan or building permit
submitted for J. Cousineau's restaurant in the City of Elk River.
I have informed the applicant that the City Council probably would not
consider a request for apull-tab operation at a restaurant that does not
currently exist.
The council will probably not want to consider this request until the building
permit has been pulled and construction has begun. The projected opening
date for the Elk River restaurant is September 1. The State Gambling
Control Board requires 60 days to approve a premise permit.
ACTION REQUESTED:
This memo is for council information only and no action is required at this
time.
