SUBJECT: Request for Charitable Gambling Refunds
During the past several years, some of the licensed charitable gambling organizations
located within the City of Elk River have contributed money to the city upon the city's
request. These contributions have been used to supplement the city's financial support
for the annual Fourth of July Celebration.
The city once again is seeking council authorization to request contributions from local
charitable gambling organizations to assist in the city's financial support of the Fourth of
July Celebration.
The city will be requesting $2,000 from each of the following organizations:
Fraternal Order of Eagles
American Legion Post #112
VFW Post #5518
Celebrity Bowl
Although the city is submitting a request for $2,000 to each of the organizations, some of
the organizations may not be able to donate the full amount. The city has informed each
organization by letter that it would be happy to accept whatever amount the organization
feels it can contribute.
