SUBJECT: Request for funds from American
Legion to purchase flags for Lion's Park
The American Legion has requested that the City ask for funds from the
American Legion pull-tab operation to replace the flags at Lion's Park. The
exact amount of money needed to replace these flags is not known at this
time; however, I believe it will be about $400.00.
• It is necessary for the City to make this request so that the purchase of the
flags with charitable gambling funds is a legitimate use of gambling proceeds
as allowed by the State Gambling Board.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Council motion requesting that the American Legion fund the purchase of
flags for Lion's Park from charitable gambling funds.
