Council motion acknowledging to the public that a quorum of the City Council maybe present fox a
reception to meet the leadership of the Elk River YMCA on Friday, February 1, 2008.
Background/Discussion
A quorum of the City Council may be present for a reception to meet the leadership of the Elk River
YMCA but they will not be convening any meetings and no action will be taken. There should be no
discussion of city business by the attending members at the dinner as it could be seen as a violation of the
open meeting law.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Elk River City Council may be attending a reception to
meet the leadership of the Elk River YMCA on Friday, February 1, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
at 22400 Meadowvale Road in Elk River, Minnesota. A quorum of the Elk River City Council may
attend the reception; however, they will not convene any meeting, and no action will be taken by the
City Council during the reception.
