Board & Commission Update
Staff needs direction on the interview process in order to fill upcoming term expirations.
The Board and Comtnission Policy states applicants will be interviewed by Council for
appointments and xe-appointments. If Council directs otherwise, staff suggests the following
options:
Option I
Schedule interviews fox all 14 applicants. If Council selects this option, we may need to
schedule a special meeting in order to allow time to interview all applicants as the agendas
for February are full.
Option 2
Appoint the following applicants with teens to expire February 11, 2011 as there axe enough
applicants to fill the seats available.

Schedule interviews for 6 applicants for the February 19 agenda with the appointments being
made on March 3.
The March 3 agenda is light at this time. CouncIl could schedule a woxksession for these
interviews on this date and then return to Chambers for regular business. The Council would
then appoint these seats at the March 10 meeting but there are meetings fox each of these
commissions during the week of March 10.
