Action Requested
Council approve the request to purchase three Ford Crown Victoria squad cars from state contract in the
amount of $71,405 including sales tax, ($22,349 each).
Background/Discussion
The requested purchase is part of the routine 3 year/100,000 mile squad replacement cycle utilized by the
Police Department fox many years. The requested vehicles are 2008 Foxd Crown Victoria Police
Interceptors which is the industry standard and which the Police Department has had extensive
experience and success using.
The requested vehicles will be purchased off of the Minnesota fleet contract which has been awarded to
Denny Heckex's Monticello Foxd-It/ercury.
Financial Impact
Funds have been designated in the 2008 Police Department capital outlay budget line item in the amount
of $99,000 which includes vehicle purchase, set up, graphics, and miscellaneous expenses associated with
squad replacement.
